The French Laundry cookbook is the most beautiful art book we own...it's not really meant to be an art book and Michael tells me it's not really meant to be a cookbook either. It's supposed to be a source of inspiration. The recipes don't really work, but the pictures are beautiful. And having eaten at Bouchon - the Bistro brother to French Laundry - a couple of times, I can imagine what the food in the pictures tastes like.
